Back by popular demand, Butch Trucks, one of the founding members and drummer of The Allman Brothers Band, and The Freight Train Band return to the Capitol Theatre on Friday, July 22 at 8 pm! They will be joined by special guests The Ries Brothers who recently toured with The Freight Train Band in a series of sold-out shows across the Southeast and Midwest. Butch Trucks and the Freight Train Band features bassist Berry Oakley, Jr., son of the original Allman Brothers bass player, along with blues guitarist extraordinaire Damon Fowler, guitar slinger Vaylor Trucks (Butch’s son), leading keyboardist Bruce Katz, vocalist and guitarist Heather Gillis and drummer Tad Isch.
Hailing from Clearwater, The Ries Brothers have toured extensively across the country, opening for Chicago. Daughtry, Los Lonely Boys, REO Speedwagon and Little River Band, among others. Older brother Charlie handles the lead vocals while simultaneously playing the drums and keyboard bass. Kevin plays guitar, provides background vocals and is the co-writer on many of their original songs. In the summer of 2013, the boys participated in the exclusive Los Angeles GRAMMY® Museum Music Revolution Project at Ruth Eckerd Hall. The Ries Brothers were recently named by The Tampa Bay Times as one of their favorite artists of 2014.
